This article serves as a reference for brands to build their product catalog during onboarding.
The Markato team is ready to assist you in creating your storefront: if you select this option, your Markato Brand Manager will reach out to collect more information from you.
Alternatively, you may choose to self-serve product uploading.
Submitting materials for Markato-assisted onboarding
To help you build your product catalog on Markato, your Brand Manager will share a Brand Information Template created for your brand. The sheet will allow you to keep track of and input the required information and assets.
You can also send an existing file or folder to your Brand Manager. The following is an overview of the required information and assets.
- Wholesale line sheet:
- Product names
- Product categories
- SKU codes
- Product descriptions
- Wholesale Prices (WP)
- Merchant Suggested Retail Prices (MSRP)
- Packaging dimensions (LxWxH)
- Packaging weights
- Case quantities
- Minimum order quantities (in units or cases)
- Maximum order quantities (in units or cases)
- Product images:
- Images must be in .gif, .jpg or .png format, and must be at least 1,050x1,050 pixels in size.
- Be sure to include images of each product option or variation.
- We recommend a lifestyle or mood shot as the main image for each product.
- [Optional] A product video:
- The video must be in .mp4 or .webm format, and must be a maximum of 2GB in size.
Uploading your catalog manually
Follow the steps below to create your product catalog on your own in your Markato portal.
0. Click Add Product on the My Products page.

Fill in the fields under 1. Basic information.
- Enter a name for your product under Product Name.
- Add a description of your product under Description.
- Select a Category for your product.
You can select multiple categories that best fit your product.
- Select a Made In country for your product.
- [Optional] Mark your product as a Best Seller.
You may only select 5 of your products as bestsellers.

Upload product images and a product video under 2. Images and videos.
- Select a minimum of two Product images that best represent your product.
- Images must be in .gif, .jpg or .png format, and must be at least 1,050x1,050 pixels in size.
- Be sure to include images of each product option or variation.
- We recommend using a lifestyle or mood shot as the main image for each product – please refer to the following examples.

- [Optional] Upload a maximum of one Product video to show your product in motion.
- The video must be in .mp4 or .webm format, and must be a maximum of 2GB in size.

Create product options under 3. Options. [Note: if your product does not have options, please proceed to instructions here.]
- Check Yes if product options exist for your product.
- Add an Option Name for the option.
- Input Option Values, such as a selection of colors or sizes.
- Select Apply to create the product option.

[Optional] Set pricing and shipping information for all product variants under 4. Variants Settings.
- Input your variants’ Wholesale Price, Retail Price, and SKU.
The wholesale prices must be consistent with those of your other wholesale channels in the relevant territory.
- Enter the SKU codes.
- Enter the packaging dimensions (LxWxH) and weight of each option.

Input your order requirements under 6. Ordering details.
- Enter your Case Quantity. This refers to the number of units of the product that is contained in a case.
- Then, enter your Minimum Order Quantity and Maximum Order Quantity. These are the minimum and maximum number of cases that a wholesale buyer may order from your brand.

Saving your product listing
- Once your product information is completed, you can change the status of the product listing under the Change status drop-down menu at the top right of the page.
- If you would like to save the progress of the upload, select Unpublished, then Save Product.
- If you are approved to go live on Markato and would like to publish the product, select Publish, then Save Product.

- Input your product’s Wholesale Price and Retail Price.
